Physical Activity and Cancer

It has been proven that physical activity reduces the risk of developing some Cancers:

  • Physical activity is associated with a reduction in overall risk of cancer
  • Regular physical activity is associated with a decreased risk of developing colon cancer by 40 - 50%
  • Physical activity is also associated with lower risk of breast cancer among postmenopausal women
  • Vigorous activity may provide a protective effect against prostate cancer in men
